It is pretty easy to set something up on Excel if you just want a year to year record of the beds and what you put in them. I find it useful to remind myself to rotate things from year to year and also to note if you have manured etc.

I could also go to the supermarket and buy veg, it will save all the fuss growing it.... its simpler that way

We dont always do things because there simple, we also do things that we learn from and could be fun in the process

I was wondering if there's an allotment planning app for Ipad or Android tablets yet. Then again, the people designing such things are so young that they probably don't know what an allotment is!

Don't know about that. Since I've had my smartphone (android) I haven't been able to locate anything very gardening-y. ::) The RHS has an app but only for iphone. :(
