Was going to get some more hens as I'm down to 2 now.
One of them I noticed had a bit of a sore rear end, & later that day when I went to give them some sweetcorn I noticed the others face covered in blood.
She had been pecking at the other obviously, so I put the injured one in a separate run & kept her there for about 5 days until she was back to herself & looked like she had healed.
I let them back together yesterday afternoon & they slept in the same coop last night.
When I went up at 6.30 this morning to feed them I saw the other one pecking at her rear end again.
I put what was the injured one back in the other run so she didn't start to bleed again as she wasn't very happy.
Should I put the one who's pecking in the smaller run & let the one that's just recovered out to dig & scratch about, as the smaller run is on slabs & is only about 5foot x 3foot?
This hospital run as I call it is in the main run so they can still see each other.

Hi seperate the one who has been attact, let her fully recover and spray her with that purple spray it hides the red colour which is what makes the other peck at it

I sprayed her with that spray the first day it happened.
She isn't red anymore just got a bald rear end.
She is back in the small run.
Want her back to full health before I get some more as I don't want all of them picking on her.
The other way to look at it also is that if there are more in the run she might be left alone as there's more going on.
So really not sure what to do at the moment?

Have you checked her for mites.  This could be why she's being pecked.  Might be best to treat them both with Frontline anyway just in case.

Can't see any mites & have also checked their coop.

fit a beak clip to the one who pecks and then see how you get on
