hi, i'm new to the wonderful world of hens, i've had 4 girls for 5 weeks and one seems to relish bullying the others by pecking. I understand that there is a " pecking order to be established but i thought that it wouldhave been sorted by now. Any ideas anyone??

How much room do they have? Do the others have somewhere to get away, or hide under? Do they have plenty to entertain themselves? Hanging veg, dustbaths, leaves to scratch through are all ideas that have been suggested before on this forum.

I only have four birds, but my experience is if they have plenty of room and lots to entertain themselves with, the bullying tends to die down to levels I can cope with. The birds seem to mind it less than I do

thank u christine, will try to get some amusements installed lol and invest in a larger run for them

It is best to have atleast two feeders and drinkers available so that the bullied get a chance of food and water.
