Does anyone know of a website which will send me email alerts if there is a frost forecast in my area...?

There are many independent weather stations in the UK where the data is made available to all:

If you locate your nearest one, you might be able to set up alerts from it. If not, it'll give you a good idea of trends and patterns very local to you anyway. :) You could also buy a weather station for yourself, they start quite reasonably and on some at least, you can set physical alarms.

As a rule of thumb an air temperature of +4C or lower with clear skies and little or no wind is likely to result in a ground frost. Local conditions also make a difference - low-lying areas are much more vulnerable as cold air tends to sink and collect there.
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

I do like Metcheck at this time of year. They have a frost risk page - It errs on the coldside in my area  ;)

But you can't set up a warning, you have to look every couple of days!
