... I've just put Brussels sprouts seeds into a tray to germinate.  Brassicas are supposed not to like the warmth ut I don't want them to e out in this cold on their first night.  What do you reckon?

I can't see a forecast other than Scotland that gives a frost.

I take it they are in the open.

I don't think they will come to any harm, but if you're that worried, bring the seed tray indoors tonight and then put it out tomorrow.

Pretty much bang in the middle!  About 50 miles south of birmingham and just down to the east beyond the cotswolds.  Not very high but the wind doesnt feel like it stopped since it left siberia ...  brrr.    Yesterday was lovely, blue skies, daffodils and happy primroses.   :happy:

Madcat We've had a load of wind here too, little 3 tier greenhouse has done a Mary Poppins twice now and is currently being weighed down with a plant pot full of soil...  You're probably only about a couple of hrs from us then if yr just outside the Cotswolds.

Yes, we had snow today here too. Flakes looked quite big but it was far too wet to settle. My local forecast says plus 2 tonight and plus 1 for a couple of nights this week, no worse than that, but the long range forecast is saying above average temps for the next month after that

Not long back from earthing up the potatoes, and whilst there I happened to notice that another plotholder has planted out some nine inch high unprotected runner bean plants.

I`ll take a photo tomorrow of what`s left of them.
