Myself and a few work mates are holding an onion growing competition in the new year.
Has any one got some advice on how to grow a monster onion eg what seed to use , soil, feeding etc ( i'm sure this is not cheating)

Well you should have also sown something yesterday, try exhibition seeds from sites on net, Alsia Craig has been world champion for last 2 decades if it's size and weight you are going for.
