Grapes in half sun?
« on: February 27, 2012, 21:26 »
Hi all, I would like to grow something that climbs up a trellised 1 metre high wall. This is mainly to cover the wall but if i can eat it its a bargain. The problem is it only gets half sun and I would have liked to try grapes....

Does anyone have any suggestions please?

Cheers

Mickeyboy :) :)

Hi mickey i would definately not try grapes in half sun its hard enough to get them to ripen in full sun up north where i am. I grow mine under cover after failure outside.

Thornless blackberries will grow in almost any sun/shade area and still crop decently, and they don't mind the cold.
