Hi,

Recently got an allotment and bought a load of things to grow, then I decided the best thing to do would be concentrate on just a few things to grow first and see how we get on.

So I've plumped for the potatoes and onions (which appear to have started growing slightly anyway), the carrots, the strawberries and the tomatoes. The seeds for everything else will be in date until next year but I do have 3 asparagus plants I got from Wilkos.  They're already in soil in their sealed bag so I was wondering, can I wait until next year or have I got to plant these out soon?

They need to go out, it's a living root, it'll send out shoots regardless, that is if they don't rot in the plastic bag first.
