I thought I had maybe had mine eaten by mice but I've just noticed a couple of small cluster of heart-shaped leaves. Almost like clover leaves but on stems a couple of inches high. Could this be them finally springing into life after two months in a raised bed in the polytunnel? I've no idea what to look for

The leaves are like slightly greyish green clover, folded to start with then opening out

My little ones - started poking through last week.... :)
Big ones started early for some reason (desperately need potting)...

The trefoil leaves are really attractive and can be mixed in with salad leaves for a different taste. It's pretty enough to use as a ground cover plant so I think that it has a place in the border as well as the allotment. I think that companion planting with oca being used to smother weed growth is really worth investigating.

My tubers were always big enough to be worthwhile, but small enough to be a bit too fiddly.

They taste OK, I grew them for a few years, and it's good to be able to harvest a tuber so late in the season.

Personally I'd like to see a variety developed that's a bit more suitable for the UK's light/dark/daylength/climate.

Will be very keen to read all of your views on oca once you've harvested and eaten the crop in about 5 months' time.

Mine in the tunnel are showing small yellow flowers. They'd better be good to eat though, they really take over a bed

Gone for underplanting the outdoor toms with oca this year ater reading some of the info above - so far no problems with this as there has been plenty of water for both

Also got some in between rows of dwarf french beans, which seems to have sheltered the beans from some of the worst of the weather -- interesting
