You're welcome, I take no responsibility for the quality, but they do say some are sprouting, (just like the O/P's), so they can't be dead!
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Grown these now for a couple of years and you get a good return per tuber.

Baked in foil with butter, added to a stir fry in thin discs, plain boiled (need to decide if you want crisp still or floury as it affects cooking time)

Really worthwhile crop imho  :D :D :D

Pretty foliage and flowers too and apart from the occasonal slug hole, pest/disease free  :D

Here they are, the little beauties.

Shall have to get busy tomorrow potting up the sprouting ones.

I did bid on more from another supplier and I`m still the highest bidder, so there may be more on the way.

 :)
I`m left handed, what`s your excuse?

I finally found a Canadian source and have ordered 2 tubers to start. Will see if I like them before ordering more.

I've got two as well, from a well known forum member that I did a seed swap with.

Me too  :D

So, remind me how they should best be grown?
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

I have decided not to grow these.  The Real Seeds site says that the tubers start to form in short days, usually mid November, so not recommended if you are likely to have an early frost.

I believe they are grown just like new potatoes.

I start mine off in small pots of compost and plant them out once frosts are over. No feeding, just soil in good heart

The leaves are very pretty and you get small yellow flowers later in the summer too.

The foliage is cut down agan by frost around November, but the tubers are fine in the ground until wanted and even seem to carry on growing.

I dug the last of mine up today  :D

They look a bit fiddly to peel, do you peel 'em ?       Cheers,     Tony.

Just re-read Aunt Sally's comment on page 1.        Cheers,     Tony.

Iv just planted my firs Oca tubers & Im very excited about them (sad I know).
Im getting a little sick of the never ending battle against slugs & butterflys attacking my caulis cabbage etc so this year Im trying to grow some different things.
I agree the tubers were VERY expensive but I suppose if these 6 I have produce plenty of young I will hopefully be able to store them for next year!
Just hope I like eating them!!!  :tongue2:
