I checked my Oca tubers yesterday to find some small sprouts appearing, so I guess it's time... :)

I first saw them for sale in a veggie shop in Wales when we were visiting John and Val.  I had no idea what they were at the time or I would have bought some then.

I think the plan is that once you've grown them you don't have to buy them again as you just save your own tubers for the next and future years.  :)

The web site I posted says it "has a taste just like potatoes with lemon sauce.   No need to peel, just boil and serve with butter. Mmmmm."

Indeed they do, very nice with fish. I roast mine with butter either in the oven or sat around the chimmnea drinking beer and eating oca  ;)

I baulked at the Realseeds prices last year and this but the fleabay ones are pretty reasonable, so I`ve commited my £10.50.
