Carrots and parsnips straight into the soil has worked for me for years. I have a full allotmen to run and feel no need to make work being a lazy moo.  :D

Anyway Paris Market 5, Atlas are the little stumpy chaps who grow round not not long and deep. I pop the seeds thinly straight into large plant pots that I can net against the carrot fly so am not worried if there are a few spaces. It saves time, space and worrying about what will happen if I move them. Well I do move them - or more strictly the adult kids wash them straight off when pulled and eat them raw. Sometimes they make it home off the plot.  :D
