I noticed your location is Portsmouth so I would not have thought you would need to grow these in a greenhouse.  If they were in a greenhouse you will need to organise pollination of the flowers yourself to be sure of fruit set.

You can grow them in pots but my experience is that they need a big pot and good fertile soil and frequent watering during warm weather.  I found that I got better results growing squash outside in a prepared bed.

Trellising - it's possible but bear in mind that the fruit can get heavy so will need to be supported well.  The trellising would need to be solidly built too to take the weight of both plant and fruit.  Trailing squash can grow quite big ... personally I wouldn't bother but I'm sure someone else could advise you better.

IMO a squash the size of Turks Turban, they are enormous trailing plants, would be very unhappy in a pot  :(

The Uchiki Kuri might be ok as it's not as rampant, and the bush scallop should be ok as well, as long as you can keep up with the watering and feeding - they are hungry and thirsty plants!

As BabbyAnn said there's no need for the greenhouse and a Turks Turban grown in there would leave you no room for anything else unless the greenhouse is huge ::)

thanks for the feedback

i think i will grow the turks turban next to the pallet fence were i keep my manure also the  fencing will be strong another to support it

the uchiki kiri will have to go in the corner next to shed

and the yellow bush scallops will go in large pot in the greenhouse

i still have to sort out were the butter nut squash will go
i only have a 1/2 plot 24 x 44ft with a 7x5 shed and a 8x6 greenhouse
think i may have got carried away with the squashes
i'v only had the plot for 2 mouths   :D

1. Good plan
2. Good plan if not too shady
3.They don't need the gh. will be fine in a pot though.
4. Now these might go into the gh, if space for them. Th need a long growing season.ey

As turks turban and uchikuri are trailers, they can be planted alongside other crops that grow above them.

I put mine with sweetcorn which works very well (Plenty of rotted manure in the ground first)

The patty pan will just about cope in alrage pot, but if you plant it on the corner of a bed it won't take as much growing space up, and will overlap the path rather than the bed.

How many plants of each variety do you intend growing?  I'm just thinking about the pollination issues - a squash plant produces both male and female flowers usually out of synch with each other and its quite handy to have other plants or different varieties of squash nearby so that there are lots of flowers opening at the same time for bees to pollinate.  Cross pollination doesn't affect the fruit quality only the seeds. I'm just thinking a single squash isolated away from others may not be as productive.

only thinking of growing 1 of each of turks turban, uchiki kiri they will be next door to each other about 3ft apart
1 yellow bush scallops (patty pan) in greenhouse i may have to help this one out with pollination
2 butter nut squashes have not decided were these are going

the next door plot to me has 3 bee hives so hopefully that will do all the work for me
               ...
thinking thinking thinking YES

like the idea of putting uchikuri in with the sweet corn then i can put the butter nut  were they were going  :D  :D
