Moody and Moulting

Our Head Hen, Arwen Evenstar, has began to moult!! And is she grumpy or what. Our usually noisy but sweet hen has turned into a stroppy teen, skulking and being silently defensive. She can always be found, as all you have to do is follow the trail of raggedy feathers!!!

She's a ex-battery hen, so we are a bit unsure of her age. She hasn't been on the nest, and is eating and drinking normally. Already her feathers have began spouting back!!! 
I had wondered about broodiness, but she has perked up today
