One of mine started a few weeks ago but now we have the snow she has gone on strike. The older girls haven't come back into lay yet. I wish they would as I like my pretty blue eggs.

what colour is she? Some people jumped on the bandwagon when people started to want blue egg layers so they bred from pullets instead of hens. Sadly this has resulted in them being small. This has happened more with lavenders. Having said that they are smaller than most large fowls.

Sometimes they start off a deep colour and very gradually get paler as the season goes on. Some of my hens started to lay at Christmas and my ducks before the shortest day - everythings gone mad!

Araucana eggs?  What are they? ??? ::)

Haven't had a blue egg since September!  It's about time my Felicity started paying her board and lodgings!!!
No matter how many plants I have in my garden, I can always find room for one more.

Iv got one lavender araucana bantam and two araucana x Sussex bantam (they are black)  the black girls lay slightly more frequently and there eggs are almost identicle to the lavenders just slightly paler but you could hardly tell

My araucanas are like yours joyful.  2 lavendars were laying just before Christmas but stopped when the snow and cold came.  It was a real treat when they started laying as I love the little blue eggs.  They have a nice dark yoke and are delicious.  :D
