Twysted1, be aware that where you plant tobacco, that you can't grow tomatoes for several years. And probably a few others as well. The tobacco leaves a nicotine residue in the ground which is death to those plants, literally, and not from smoke inhilation either. Farmers in Ontairo growing that crop have to literally steam sterilize the ground prior to planting to keep it alive. Once tobacco has grown on the land, it's useless to other crops for about 5 years.  Just thought you might like to know this little realized fact

i have just recieved some tobacco seeds in the post. i wondered if anybody has any experience of growing there own. i have a virginnian variety and am looking forward to my homegrown baccy. also what are the laws likely to be it would be amusing if H.M customs turn up on my plot  as it is not the usual thing to find.
