Which spud fertilizer..........?

Which spud fertilizer..........?

After getting quite mediocre results from my spuds over the last few years, does anyone have a favorite fertilizer they use?

Good old 'OS MUCK'  !  :lol:  Plant the spud on this and don't earth up too early.   Mulch of seaweed if you can get it.    ::) Cheers,    Tony.

a lot of people will not use manure because of the herbicide contamination, so other options are useful  ;)

I buy a pelleted one from ebay

Spuds will always be mediocre.

Try calling them potatoes and your results will be superior.

Plenty of manure.
Work some high potash fertilizer into the soil (usually called potato fertilizer).
Not much water until they have pea sized potatoes and then plenty.

Thanks MoS. That looks a good one and free P&P too.

Our manure supply is free from herbicides and I've also done the bean test on it.

I tried that, unfortunately they only have eyes and no ears so they can't hear me.  :tongue2: :lol:
