My wonderful new coop - wey hey!!!
« on: October 15, 2007, 17:00 »
here are a couple of pictures of my fantastic new coop, its so much better than i could ever have expected and i can walk in upright to go in and clean.

it has a wired window to let in some light and fresh air. a full size door for me and a little door that drops down into a ramp. with 3 nest boxes that i can get to from the outside and is lifted off the ground too. the roof has been felted so has the nest boxes.

im sure its as good as any bought coop and more special to me because my dad made it.

pavlova has already laid an egg in the coop so i guess it gets the thumbs up from them too.

and heres how i close up for the night

i am so happy - does that make me a saddo  :D  :D  :D

thanks ruth, glad im not the only one.

mum and dad even turned up last night to check if everyone had gone to bed ok.

when i opened the ramp this morning they all filed out one by one like little soldiers.

the move doesnt seem to have bothered them either.

that is brilliant. really wish I had made my coop now.. but hey ho.

mine has a ramp/door like yours and in the wet is clogs up with gunk and tis hard to close at night... might see about replacing the wooden door/ramp with something other than wood, so it doesn't "swell"

hi sadgit

the ramp / door is actually bigger than the pop hole so it covers it completely when you close it up. something for you to consider?
