I could do with one of those!
Have to be trained to catch pigeon, magpies, crows, squirrels and other vermin but NOT the chickens!

By the way....my cabbage was decimated and I've discovered, after using loads of slug pellets, that it's CATERPILLARS! It's been so warm they've kept eating before pupating.
(My beds are netted so caterpillar eating birds can't do their food web thing.)

i had slug problems,,i put some sharp sand around when i planted mine an they all seem fine this year,just a few slug holes,,or was i just lucky  ha ha, who knows

I have been having the same problem, they have now been netted. I previously tried pellets but there was no sign of any dead slugs.
I have looked under all the leaves for caterpillars but there has been no sign of them either or do they hide in the soil?

They don't hide in the soil, they are very well camouflaged and lie along the ribs of the leaves, laughing at us

Copper sulphate?? 

Was told by my dad when we built our poly' that if you can't get a length of copper strip to use around the doors etc, use copper sulphate.

Would this work out doors on your cabbages?
