hi ya :) i have herd that seed or potting compost, is good to put in to drills at sowing time, what would be best for this and how deep, i expect you would need a couple of large bags for an average plot :unsure:..........pete

It's not necessary if you've already loosened the soil (which is highly recommended) but if you feel you want to, then only an inch or so deep in a half inch wide 'trench' would be needed. the idea is to just keep the immediate area loose for emerging rootlets .
