Garvo Alfamix / Layers Pellets
« on: January 17, 2012, 13:46 »
Does anyone have any thoughts on Garvo Alfamix or pellets?

I've found out that there's a stockist just up the road from me. Any good?

a lot of breeders and showers feed garvo products as there are special mixes to suit different birds. Each type has different vitamins/minerals etc added.
I fed mine on them for a few weeks but couldn't be bothered to start buying different feeds when they went broody etc.
Staffies are softer than you think.

I have not used these products, but I am interested in knowing more about their effectiveness. How long did you guys use the product? What does the company recommend as an adequate amount of time?

you will need to check garvos website although I doubt they will recommend a time span. It also depends on what type you are using - fancy feather, breeder etc.
Oh and welcome by the way, why not nip over to our welcome section and introduce yourself. As you are posting in the chicken section why not post some photos of your own birds in the chicken chat section.

From what I've read on here, it sounds as though Garvo's is aimed at birds which are shown so it could work out pricey for gardeen pets - but you have to factor in convenience & petrol costs if you had to go further to buy cheaper.

I'm lucky - there's a couple of places I can easily pass by ion my usual travels in order to buy pellets: the agricultural merchant is noticeably cheaper than the 'discount' pet store, but it would cost more overall if I  drove there specially....so I try to plan my purchasing when I'm going that way anyway
