« on: January 16, 2012, 22:04 »
what can I do with them they are old computer cables and that sort of thing , I dont want to throw them in the bin is there any where I can recycle them ??
some people are like slinkys......they're really good for nothing, but they still bring a smile to your face as you push them down the stairs!!

Freecycle / Freegle?
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Try your local free-cycle. Ours has loads and people get them all the time - possibly for car boots but it's still re-cycling them..

Not sure they'd be long enough to tie between the raspberries  ;)

If you have a small local computer repair shop, you could give them all to them in a box  :)

well some of them I could but they are mostly quite thick some of them are scart cables (very stiff and not very bendy) unused we have several of them that we will never use I will probably take them to one of the many charity shops in my home town some one might want something from them  :)

The thing is with charity shops, certainly all the main ones near me (Oxfam, Help the aged etc) won't take electrical goods of any kind. Something to do with them being out of warranty and needing to be checked for safety by an electrician before they can sell them... Or at least thats what i was told when trying to offload a cd player.

Gumtree or Freecycle might be your best bet

Well, its worth a shot, but i do think they have an aversion to anything of that nature. You might find the staff have been told "don't accept electrical" and apply that to everything that gets plugged in. But, worth a shot...
