I normally expect to loose some 30% of onions and shallots to white rot. Last year, there was no white rot  on my onions or shallots grown in ground that I had treated with the garlic solution the previous year. A fantastic result! I did have some losses on the garlic that I grew, but not as much.

Sounds very promising i have not suffered white rot myself, but its a method to keep in mind  :)
