morning all, has anyone grown these onions,i got a packet off ebay,just about to sow them   just wondered what there like, regards mick

Never grown them, but they look a nice onion.

Medwyn Williams, however, whilst he says they are a good show onion, also says they don't store well.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Similar type to Kelsae. Grow big but do not store.

But like Kelsae and Ailsa Craig, they chop and freeze very well indeed.... thats one of the varieties I'll be growing this year  :)

Also depends on how many onions you eat and how many you grow. Grew The Kelsae last year, probably had about 30, they dont keep long, but long enough for our small family to eat them all before they went bad. Also grow lots of good keepers to get us by too. Globo for me this year, sowed half already!
