Lemon Cookoo Orpington
« on: January 01, 2012, 14:22 »
I have six assorted chickens, Silver Pekin Partridge (shes head chicken) but has not laid yet, a Norfolk Grey, (she lays but is having a rest) :)  a Light Sussex bantam (lays most days) a Andalsuisan Blue (lays big eggs every other day) a lacewing Orpington and a Lemon Cookoo Orpington, they have been in a nice big run for six months and on Boxing day let them out for the first time, Rosie the Lemon Cookoo Orpington chases the cats and any birds that come into the garden, shes seems to have gone mad and is full of life, she is only about 30 weeks and is just maturing, like Roxy the lacewing Orpington, the two Orpingtons were introduced to the flock at about 20 weeks so were bottom of the pecking order for a while, Rosie being just a chirping baby at the time, does anyone else find that the teenagers are a bit lively while they are maturing, Orpingtons are supposed to be the gentle giants!! :)
