Day 3 as a plot holder...
« on: December 31, 2011, 17:58 »
... and Husband came up for the first time to do some work for a couple of hours.

The result?  The top priority on the action list now is not clearing all the weeds, digging it over, buying/adding fertilizer or buying some seeds.

No, apparently what we need to most urgently is get a new shed!

A man after my heart! Luckily mine came with a shed, which my close neighbours have spoken enviously. One even said it was one of the best on the plot.  :tongue2: That being said, our site does look like a shanty town, so it ain't that hard!

Kate,

Please don't take this the wrong way, but rather than creating a new thread every day, why not create a continuous thread in the "Gardener's Diaries" forum? That's what it's there for!

http://chat.allotment-garden.org/index.php?board=37.0
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

A shed is top of my list too, along with a wee bucket  ;) now that's actually a bucket to wee in, not just a small and cute bucket  Why is it that every time I go to the plot I end up bursting for the loo...? I think it's a girl thing if i'm honest, you chaps have it so easy.  Oh dear, I'm so sorry Kate for lowering the tone on your thread.  x x x

Thanks Claire - 'cos it's a question that had been on my mind!!  I was wondering if anyone had tried out those she-wee's.....

I guess if it has to be a bucket, a new shed is a must - the rickety old existing one is the tiniest I have ever seen - 3' x 3' - and I'd never get the door closed

Hi Girls,
(Guys look away now)

I only put my name down for allotment sites that had toilet facilities!
Luckily in Glasgow there were a few to chose from.
Although they turn off the water in winter.

Anyway, I DO own a shewee. I got it for travelling Up North ie the Highlands of Scotland.
I never had to use it in the wild, but I did practice at home and it worked! It feels strange peeing whilst standing up and more or less fully clad.  We've spent pur lives trying NOT to do that!

Back to topic: my other half is showing much more interest in contstruction rather than cultivation on our new plot too. Suits me fine.

Love it!  I've just got a new plot (beginning of Dec) and luckily there was a ramshackle shed which my OH is now obsessed with sorting out!  We already have a new roof, and he spent ages trying to get it level and generally faffing.  We'll shortly be having new hinges on the door and a new lock as well.  Hey ho - it keeps him interested!

On another note, I have to admit to taking the potty with me yesterday!  For the children though...!
