I'm truly envious of you lot. None of our Canadian seed suppliers offer free anything. period. And its not like they're hurting for business, because they aren't.  >:(

I do Auntimogs, I take over the kitchen table from 1st Jan to end of May when the last of the seedling can go out.  The propogator is at the top and then I take the seedling out, pot them on and then gradually harden then off for the greenhouse. Toms and peppers take over the house.

Alan Romans really are amazingly good value. I just ordered 13 pkts of seed from them for £10 including postage, better prices than even ebay.

My Simply Seeds order arrived this morning. 20 packets of veg seeds for seventeen quid seems OK to me. I love the plain packaging with just sowing time, germination temperature, germination time, depth and spacing typed on the front. It gives a real utilitarian, no-nonsense image to the product

Yes, I looked at them too, but I still think Alan Roman is better value because you tend to get more seeds. For example, White Lady runner beans are 90p for 48 seeds at Romans but 95p for 20 seeds at Simply, and Brussels Trafalgar are 80p for 40 at Romans but 95p for 20 at Simply. The downside of Romans is you do get quite a small selection of seeds, but where they do have the one I want they're usually best value on offer.

You lot are gonna be seriously impressed  :)

Determined this year not to lose the plot when silly season at work car crashes into peak sowing season, so as well as a spanky new notebook, I now also have a spreadsheet of all my seeds, by family and with sowing and harvesting times.  Plus a spreadsheet plan of the plot and home raised beds.  I like the idea of having an electronic version I can update and print off to keep in my notebook.  Just in case I decide to change the plot plans you understand.  Deffo not because I might buy more seeds  :nowink:

This will probably not prevent me from becomming a burbling wreck this spring, but makes me feel a whole lot better for now  ;)

Hi, this is my first post, I had forgotten all about this site until a colleague mentioned it.
Thanks Dave!
I couldn't stop chuckling to myself reading this thread, I thought I was the only one!!
Now up to about 25 varieties of Tomato, and 35 varieties of hot peppers.
I dare not count the rest.
When my local garden centre reduced their seeds to 50p last year I managed to walk away with about 90 packets (Some of them were multipacks!)
I am a compulsive seed saver as well, and just can't help myself from trying almost everything I buy that has seeds in.
I am definately going to have to build a polytunnel this year.
