I have a south facing wall with a walled concrete area in front of it about 12' square ,the wall is approx 3 1/2 ft high.
Could I make a cold frame to sit against the wall, upright with shelves in,would this be any good?
It get's pretty warm even in the winter when the sun is out!

I'm thinking of getting a polytunnel now.

An ideal situation there - go for it!

I hope you mean the cold frame will be ok south facing!! ??

If so, I assume mine which will be freestanding placed on the side of my shed  will be sort of south east facing so should be fine as well. .. I was worried it might get a bit hot being 6' tall with 4 shelves and having all sides made of poly carb from conservatory roofing. Sides will be double sheet thickness and single sheet for the doors and roof. Sun will travel from side at about 12 noon to the front / doors section from about 2 pm onwards. I intend to have the doors open almost straight away to keep it cooler then if closed up like a GH..

If I put the cold frame on that wall it will get the sun all day,I'm assuming it will also benefit from the stored heat from the wall.

Thanks Mum I'll get on with it first thing in the new year
