Oh yes, it's 'happy dance' time in this house. Tilda (RIR) laid her very first egg today. Small but perfectly formed. She is the first of our chickens to lay.

The children had it scrambled for dinner last night (I did add others to it). When I broke it we found that it was a large yolk and no white at all.
Tilda laid another egg today, in the nest box too.  :blink:
 This one had more colour to the shell and was perfect inside and out. I fried it for my lunch.  :D

Great joy comes out of little moments.  My 'retired' recently adpted hen surprised me with one today and I announced it on my facebook page!

Must be catching, my Maran that stopped after a partial moult back in August has layed 2 this week.  One on Monday & one on Thursday. 

YIPPEEE - that our first eggs in 8 weeks as none of the others have layed either.

I still get excited when any of my pullets begin to lay- I have 4 due to start soon and can't wait!    :D :D
