apricots, plouts and apriums
« on: December 11, 2011, 23:23 »
Anyone had a good experience of growing these in the UK, and can recommend a supplier?

I'm considering an aprium and trying apricot again. My first attempt was "Tomcot", but I am thinking the tree was mis-sold, it has peach-like lance-shaped leaves unlike the pictures I've seen since, and the fruit never ripens, it swells and splits wide open and the kernels drop, although the kernels are viable, they germinate all over. It's not the first time I've been sold a wrongly labelled bare-root tree. I've a perfectly good peach that was sold as a nectarine.

I bought a Pluot from T & M two years ago and I reported that it had fruited this year for the first time.
I also have a Lillycot also from T & M which has still to flower. I live in hope!!
