Hi and welcome.
Not much you can do this time of year but start planning what you want to grow next year.  Start by thinking what you like to eat, get the seeds and wait.
You could get some garlic in now before the frost comes.

Good luck for next years crop

I'm going to have my first try at growing onions from seed indoors around winter festival time based on the brilliant advice from folks on here - so, you've definitely come to the right place for info. Good luck with your plot  :D

greetings, take the time to make some cages or covers use fine netting this will save your crops being attacked by butterflies rabbits etc,its well worth the effort,i had my plants eaten by pidgeons rabbits etc in my first year so i made some cages no problems since,be lucky.

You can plant strawberries or rhubarb.  Don't crop the rhubarb and pick off any strawberry flowers next year so that they get well established and you will get better plants for the following year.

Like others have said, garlic is good to get in before Christmas.  It needs a cold spell to crop well.

Join your local horticultural society as you can get good discounts on your seed orders if you order through them.

Plan to grow stuff which is expensive in the supermarkets like coriander and celeriac (if you like them)
Hope that helps.

I agree with all the other comments - this is a great opportunity to sort out your shed, compost bins, fruit cage, etc. To the list of crops you can plant now, shallot sets are traditionally planted at the winter solstice - 21st - but only if your soil isn't too heavy.

But best of all, enjoy the cosy evenings in with the seed catalogues or their websites planning what you're going to be eating next year.

There's not very much at this time of year.

http://www.allotment-garden.org/vegetable/general/sowing-harvest-vegetable-chart.php is a useful guide.  Also look on the Growing Help link at the top of the page for monthly guides.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Right now you can be getting fruit bushes, strawberries and raspberries in also Garlic, onions and shallots. Onions are maybe best left til spring though now.

Think about what sort of potatoes you would like to grow.
Some varieties are a lot easier than others.
Some don't get eaten by slugs, but some get attacked badly.
Also some are resistant to blight but some are not.
Most people like charlotte, which are good croppers and fairly early.

I really like charlotte got 3kg ordered along with 3 kg of rocket another favourite, still trying to decide if it good economics to grow any maincrops spuds as the price this year has been stupidly cheap to just buy them in.
