I grew about 100 of each of Musselburgh and Bulgarian Giant this year. They were grown in alternate rows, sown at the same time and transplanted at the same time. Musselburgh are great with one or two real whoppers. After a good early crop, most of the Bulgarian Giants have bolted and gone to seed

Honey, Bulgarian giant are a summer leek. Completely different sowing times for these two.

So I've since figured, but the sowing/growing instructions were identical

Ooh, one cannot trust them merchants now... They might come on faster, I cannot remember such detail, a few years it has been that I grew them, but definitely do not stand the winter well.

As for the leek routine of mine, for winter/early spring use I sow in June, never mind what they say on the packet...
