hi ya :) i would like to put my wifes mind at rest, she has this fear of vegetables that will be grown on our new allottment , will not be safe to eat because the odd cat fox or whatever may of contaminated the soil  :lol: :lol:, she is a very fussy lady and works in a laboratrey whitch opens her eyes up to all sorts of things, i would like you guys to give your opinion , :D............pete

well except for salad stuff grown hydroponically, all veggies are grown in soil.
Your allotment is no better/worse than a farmer's field, so don't know what her problem is  :nowink:

I would point out that you know what is going into your soil and being sprayed onto your plants which you don't with shop bought items.
Give her some of your soil to test in the Lab.

surely anything that could be contaminated can be washed ?? you can even use milton to decontaminate I have a very fussy husband who is obsessed with germs (I think anyway and he is still around )  :lol: :lol:
some people are like slinkys......they're really good for nothing, but they still bring a smile to your face as you push them down the stairs!!

It's converted into usable fertiliser and sprayed on fields very close to me in summer.  Boy does it stink. >:(

The farmer must by law plough it in within 24 hours and I believe not spread it if the wind is drifting towards built up areas.  He was fined last year for not doing so. >:(

They are only allowed to grow certain things in that soil though, and I don't think veg can be  :unsure:

Is it spread just like slurry?  That smells bad enough!  Never knew this happened
