New Chicken Shed

Hi,

I have just bought a new shed in which to house my girls and I was just wondering what the best wood preservative is to use on it and should I do the inside aswell?

Hi - I used Cuprinol Clear, then realised it wasn't water repellant, so used a Ronseal quick dry sealant on top. The trouble with some of the treatments is that they have an active ingredient which they don't recommend for use with live animals. Some are also only suitable for sawn wood, others can be used on planed/smooth wood. If you want a cloured/tinted treatment that imits your choice (I wanted dark green, but had to give up that idea in the end).

I found Ronseal and Cuprinol technical service both very helpful (found their numbers on their respective websites).
