My Bantams have taken a liking to the wild bird fat balls I put out for wild birds, are they ok for them to eat?  Also, I saw from another post here that someone was advised to feed tuna in water, is this something to do occasionally?  My girls are not laying yet as only about 20 weeks old and apart from mixed grain, growers pellets and grass, they are not particularly interested in anything else.

I wouldn't think that the fat balls would be very good for them but someone else will have to confirm that.  The tuna I think is for when they are moulting and need the extra protein.

the fat balls aren't really the thing to feed hens. They contain far too much fat and as your hens aren't as active as wild birds they won't burn it off.
