Glass potatoes
« on: November 01, 2011, 00:08 »
November and I now have an empty 12x8 greenhouse and got to wondering ( I do that a lot ) what would happen if I planted some potatoes in there, I'm sure someone must have tried. Am I doomed to failure before I start ? Any advice such as "don't bother"would be appreciated.

Unless the g/house is frost proof, any foliage that came through would die off.

I'd give it a miss and grow winter lettuce instead  :)

The minimum temperature for potato growth is 50oF / 10oC.  But higher is better.

Unless you can provide this and give a high light level and extend the day length, I wouldn't bother.
