Turnips - Whats happened to them?

Can anyone tell me what ever happened to BIG 'snaggers'? They all seem to be little varieties these days about the size of tennis balls. 
I remember years ago, they were the size of footballs, I even used to make my 'Halloween' lantern out of them with half of a 6" candle inside, they were that big.
Does anyone know if you can still get them these days and if so what is the variety called?

Is that a turnip or what we call a swede darn sarf?

It's not an English variety, but the Giant Limousin Turnips from Realseeds grow big, like swedes

I much prefer the milder taste of swede, turnips seem quite bitter unless they are picked when tiny
