Moving a smallish tree

I have just taken over a half plot at my local allotments.
There is a 10 - 12 ft Damsen tree on it, however it is right in the way of the gate and where i want my beds to be. I would like to keep it and wondwered how feasable it would be to move it?
If it is what would the best way of doing this?

Thanks Simon, I have had a look at a few articles on the net about it. I will give it a go once i have decided where to put it.

Haveing moved a 6-7 ft cheery tree this afternoon I wish you all the luck in the world .I reccomend three weetabix every morning for about a month before tackeling a 10-12 footer.In the past I've had a good strike moving trees.I think it isn't vitaly important to keep all the thick carrot like roots as they ancor the tree more then feed it.The ones you have to be careful of are the fibourouse roots which water and feet the tree.A tree of the size you are talking about will also need very strong support for quite a few years until it's ancored itself properly again.
