pear graft
« on: October 18, 2011, 21:29 »
evening folks would like some info on grafting my grandads very old conference pear that is in a sorry state after being severely pruned 6 years ago (not guilty) and has not recovered, so I thought it would be a nice touch to continue this trees life. What is the best root stock to use for this type of graft, thanks.

The rootstock I know about is called Quince A, and will let your tree grow up to a maximum of about 7-8 m, but it is easy to keep it pruned to around 3m.

I hope that helps  :)
