A friend of mine whose got a paddock for her horse asked me to visit to see if I could identify a plant that was popping up every where in one corner of the paddock.I went and identified it as teasel and tried to describe what kind of plant it is but all she wanted to know is it poisonouse.I've never heard it was poisonouse for animals but if anybody knows diffrent can you let me know please.

Teasel (D. sylvestris), if this is the right one, appears to be used by some in the form of a tincture made from its roots.

So perhaps if the roots are not poisonous the rest of the plant may not be.

There's mention of someone feeding to their tortoise but heaven knows why when there are better plants around for this. Too prickly I would have thought.

Other than that I can't find any information about its toxicity to animals.
An interesting question.

You are right Paul -- teazel is not poisonous at all   :)
