Bad tomatoes

Our allotment tomatoes were struck by the blight a month ago, whereupon uprooted the plants and flung them in a remote corner of the allotment. Is there a risk of disease spreading from these. We are not allowed to start allotment fires here in Belgium. is there any other way of getting rid of the contaminated plants apart from putting them in the rubbish bin? Pouring vinegar over them, for example?

I binned mine as well when I got blight last year. The blight spores can hang around the 'corner' and come back next year with a vengeance. This year the toms were blight-free.

Be sure to pick up every fallen tom, every bit of leaf you can.
