I only grew two varieties of bean, and the Blue Lake were the more disappoiting. Admittedly, I only had 6 plants, but they only produced enought beans for two meals (for two) between them. A second planting gave three beans!

Whereas the dwarf Purple Teepee beans took up less room and we had 5-6 meals from 8 plants, and then 3-4 meals from a second (September) sowing of 6 plants.

i tried alderman,ne plus ultra and purple podded tall growing peas this year and all did well for me so will try again this year,all bought from ebay

i think every one agrees Blue lake and Cobra are good choices but i tried Fasold climbing bean last year long pencil stringless beans luvly, but gonna grow all 3 next year.
