what grows well/ok in shadier places?
« on: September 24, 2011, 11:45 »
Title says it all. I have a veg plot in my garden thats semi-shaded. Would like advice as to which vegs are more tolerant or, or even prefer, shady conditions. Thanks.

I have a north facing garden and have found that anything grows, except flowering veg (toms, beans, courgettes etc) as they seem to need the sun to flower, fruit and ripen well. My staples in the v shady spots are salad, lettuce, herbs, chives, kale, beetroot, parsnips, leeks.
