just a point nathan dont prune fruit tree while they are in leaf  it can lead to rot setting in on the cuts .damp fugus will settle on the branches . try to do it when the tree shuts down for winter ,the sap isnt rising in trees then, get some woundheal for fruit trees from garden suppliers and paint each cut with it asap
still alive /............

its got protection stuff on the cuts :D

i cut them now to get rid of some of the leafs b4 they drop, saves the pond getting covered as much. ive done it about now for the last 5 years, normaly give them a trim so i can get all round the pond to vac it out in prep for winter

Whoever told you that was right.  Leave those trees alone. Now - about that lawn.......!
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

... this was mine a couple of weeks ago ...

The dog isn't mine by the way ... he just spends a lot of time on my plot, I don't think it has anything to do with the biscuit tin I keep in the shed.

You can dig up that piece of useless grass to gow more veg, rather than chop down your trees!
