Orientation and access to compost bins.

Constructing a THREE compost bin line up (where do they get those nails from for pallets)!   The bins will run North / South, it would be easier access from the West but not a lot of Sun to warm up the compost and aid decomposition/rotting down.   I can access from the East, but a bit of a pain.       Cheers,    Tony.

I don't find the sun adds much to composting if the pile is made correctly. My bins are now under the shade of very mature acer trees, with very easy access, and they're doing just fine. I have friends who have done the same thing to save valuable sunny growing areas.
