One of my eggs this morning was wee, like a quails egg! I've had some double yolks off my girls, but not this! They all seem helathy.
They are 3 hybrids, POL last Sept, they've laid every day all year and are all well. Fed on layer pellets and the odd bit of corn or scraps, as well as free rangng in the afternoons.
They haven't moulted yet, but I have noticed 2 of them are geting much more "new" bronzey feathers round their necks.Could this be the moult, and if so, is it the reason for the wee egg?

I've only ever had one of them, they're usually a 'one' off egg. Mostly it's if the hens has either jsut started laying or just got back into it

yep, more commonly known as a 'wind' egg or a 'fart' egg!  Never heard of a fairy egg!    It's quite normal, and as chloe said, it is when they are just beginning or as they get back into it.  Enjoy- but it probably doesn't have a yolk!
