Transplanting leeks
« on: September 13, 2011, 14:23 »
I have some leeks in a litter tray (a la DD) but as I am giving up my lotty they never made it into the ground.

I have a new raised bed in my garden... if I planted a few in there would they grow on any further? I wouldn't expect mammoth leeks but would they do anything?

They are pencil thickness at the moment.

No amount of time can erase the memory of a good cat, and no amount of masking tape can ever totally remove his fur from your couch.

I could give up chocolate but I'm not a quitter.

Go for it.

At worst you'll get baby leeks that'd cost an arm and a leg in the shops.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Aunty kept leeks over winter and posted a pic of the monsters she had by spring. Once onions are established, they don't mind cool weather.
