Two chilli harvests in one year?

My cayenne peppers grown on the sunny windowsill in the spare bedroom produced a decent crop of ripe chillies by July and then showed all the signs of starting to die back.

Thinking that it was a bit early to let them give up I gave them a couple of feeds of Miracle Grow (as well as the usual tomato food) and they started to produce new leaves and flowers.

These are now setting and I have more baby chillies; I doubt whether this bonus crop will finish up either full-sized or ripe but I'm pretty sure I'm going to get something usable! 

I'm trying the same "trick" with sweet peppers too, which have also produced new growth and flowers, although being potentially much larger fruits I doubt whether I shall get much from them.

Does anyone else try to push their peppers in this way (or does it just happen anyway?)

my sweet peppers have had a second spurt of growth in August, but in their case I just think it was the cool June that slowed them up a bit. Like you say doubt they'll come to much, but I may get some small green ones  

, unlike the triffid of a hot lemon I have in the greenhouse this year.
