blight tomatoes?
« on: September 01, 2011, 19:38 »
Lost all my plants today to blight, however I have rescued some of the tomatoes that appear clean although green. Does anyone know if I can use them to make green tomato chutney?

I'd put them in a tray and keep an eye on them for a few days to see if there are signs of blight having already infected them (brown blotches to start off with.)

If they had already reached a good size and were starting to show any signs of starting to ripen (usually a slight yellowing of the fruits) you might get them to successfully ripen, but again you need to keep a close eye on them for signs of rot.
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

One of the best things about being an orang-utan is the fact that you don't lose your good looks as you get older
