Just clearing up most of toms finnished, but what do you do with spent compost from pots & growbags?  I only have small garden no flower beds to chuck it on.  Most of my plants are grown in pots & containers.

I don't use growbags.  Spent compost from pots is layered with rotted manure and aged.  Makes terrific potting compost 18 months later.

I've just finished putting all mine in the compost bin too although sometime i grow some winter leetuces in the greehouse with it

I re-use it in the spring to grow radishes on my notorious cat litter trays. I can keep them away from slugs.

I'd advise against it since it will make it very hard for your compost heap to stay hot (and it should be hot).

I use them for late salad leaves in the greenhouse or empty into the potato bed just incase and to include them into the rotation.I nhave no idea if this helps but it makes me feel good

I empty mine on to the beds, but if you haven't got any beds re-use it in containers next year, but don't grow the same stuff in it.

take it all out  the bags on to  concrete base n add 1 small cup of growmore to each bags werth now mix real well turning it over from side to side . now bag up into proper garden waste bags .tie the tops and store till spring . use in tubs or anything for flowers etc .next year after throw in the compost werks for me ,my hanging baskets love it

Thanks all, actually I don't grow stuff in the bag, it's just cheaper than potting compost at my local garden centre.

Would I be alright following yr advice Munty and using for runner beans or cougettes or for transplanting my grapes?

its fine for veggies but to soft for grapes .they like a good hold in the ground ... mines in the greenhouse soil

Cheers Munty, my grapes outside, in tubs, against south facing kitchen window.  You think they'll be alright.  We don't often get frost here in Blackpool, however when I first moved here about 7 yrs ago it got down to -11 and sea was starting to freeze on beach.

What we do get is wind in abundance, in fact I reckon it's been that, that's done for a lot of my plants this yr not the rain.

if your worried bring em round the back to a sheltered spot or in the greenhouse . winter can be finicky anywhere ,try wrapping them in fleece and stuffing straw down the inside if needed
